Buyers and sellers
Does it cost buyers or sellers anything?
No. Buyers and sellers use About2Close free. Service providers pay for bid access, and advertisers pay for labeled placements.
Who sees my inspection report?
Only you, until you share it. Providers see the findings they are invited to bid on, and a seller sees your case only if you invite them. Report links expire and every view is logged.
Are the bids binding?
Each bid is labeled. A firm bid is the provider’s quote for the listed scope until its validity date. An estimate is preliminary, usually from photos, and a site visit can change the price.
Do I have to hire anyone?
No. Accepting a bid is your choice, and the work is arranged between you and the provider.
My deadline is in a few days. Is that enough time?
Often, yes: the system is built around short windows, and the first-bid priority shortens when your deadline is close. We do not promise a number of bids or a response time.
Does About2Close vet providers?
Providers give us their EIN and sign attestations about insurance, workers’ compensation, I-9 compliance, licensing and bonding, and we review them before their first bid. That review is limited. About2Close is only a platform: check licenses, insurance and references yourself before you hire anyone. Every user holds About2Close harmless, as set out in the Terms.
Does About2Close do the repairs or hold any money?
No. About2Close is a marketplace. It does not perform repairs, hold escrow or manage construction.
Service providers
Does a ZIP Code Exclusive guarantee me work?
No. It gives you the first 24 hours to bid on new cases in your ZIP and trade. It does not guarantee leads, jobs or that your bid is accepted.
Can two providers hold the same ZIP and trade?
No. There is one ZIP Code Exclusive per ZIP and trade. If it is taken, you can get on deck and be next in line.
When does an on-deck provider get the slot?
When the current holder does not renew, or their payment fails after three attempts.
What happens if my payment fails?
We retry and let you know. Future bidding rights pause until billing is fixed; bids you already sent stay on record.
How do I get verified?
Open the territory map and request business access: your legal business name and EIN, trade, service area, and attestations for insurance, workers’ compensation, I-9, licensing and bonding. We review before your first bid.
Why an EIN and not my Social Security number?
About2Close is for businesses, and we do not collect Social Security numbers. Sole proprietors can get a free EIN from the IRS online in minutes.
Can I cancel?
Monthly plans cancel at the end of the billing period. Renewal and cancellation terms are shown before checkout.
Privacy and safety
Do you sell my information?
No. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising. See the Privacy Policy.
Are sponsored providers ranked higher?
No. Sponsored placements are labeled and never change the order of bids.
