These terms cover your use of about2close.com today. Account terms for buyers, sellers and providers will be shown and agreed before accounts open.
Draft for review. This page is being finalized with counsel and may change before About2Close opens accounts. Questions: hello@about2close.com.
What the site is
About2Close is an online marketplace that connects home buyers and sellers with independent service providers. About2Close does not perform repairs, act as a contractor, broker or escrow agent, or guarantee any outcome, price, closing, credit or response.
Information on the site
Content on this site, including examples, estimates and sample data, is for general information. Examples are labeled. Repair estimates are not quotes, and real prices come from providers.
Your use
- Give accurate information in any form you submit.
- Do not misuse the site, scrape it, interfere with its operation or try to access data that is not yours.
- Do not submit anything unlawful or that you do not have the right to share.
Providers are independent
Service providers are independent businesses, not employees or agents of About2Close. Any agreement for work is between the customer and the provider.
Intellectual property
About2Close™, the logo and site content belong to About2Close or its licensors. Do not use them without written permission, except as allowed on the press page.
No promises about users or results
About2Close is a platform. We make no promise about how many buyers, sellers, cases, providers, bids or leads will use it, in any ZIP code, trade or market, or about any outcome of using it. Low or no activity is not a failure of the service and is not grounds for a claim against About2Close.
You take on the risk
You use About2Close at your own risk. Decisions about repairs, prices, negotiations, hiring and closing are yours, and agreements for work are between you and the provider. To the extent the law allows, you release About2Close and its owners, team and partners from claims arising from your use of the platform, from other users, and from work done or not done by providers.
Hold harmless: every user
This applies to everyone who uses About2Close: buyers, sellers, real-estate agents, inspectors, service providers and sponsors. About2Close is only a platform that connects you. It does not check every statement users make and does not stand behind any user, bid, report, license, insurance policy or piece of work.
To the extent the law allows, you agree to hold harmless and indemnify About2Close and its owners, team and partners from claims, losses, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: false, incomplete or misleading information given by any user; claims, promises or advertising made by any user; work that is late, defective, unlicensed, uninsured or never done; and any dispute between users.
Do your own due diligence
Due diligence happens outside the platform and is your job. Before you hire, accept a bid, or rely on anything you see here: check licenses with your state board, ask for certificates of insurance and workers’ compensation, confirm bonding and permits where they apply, read reviews and references, and get the scope and price in a signed agreement with the provider. Badges and attestations on About2Close are statements made by the provider, not guarantees by About2Close.
Disclaimers and liability
The site is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, About2Close is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, lost profits or lost business, and its total liability is limited to the amount you paid About2Close in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer-protection law that cannot be waived.
